Functionalized Nanocellulose/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Composites for Electrochemical Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Four different types of crystalline and fibrillar nanocellulosic materials with functional groups (sulfate, carboxylate, amino-silane) are produced used to disperse commercial multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT). Aqueous nanocellulose/MWCNT dispersions drop-cast on tetrahedral amorphous (ta-C) substrates obtain highly stable composite electrodes. Their electrochemical properties studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements Ru(NH3)62+/3+, IrCl62–/3– redox probes, in electrolytes ionic strengths. All composites show excellent stability over a wide potential range (−0.6 +1 V) electrolytes. Highly anionic more porous indicate strong electrostatic physical enrichment cationic Ru(NH3)62+/3+ lower-ionic-strength electrolytes, while lesser denser no such effects. This study provides essential insights into developing tailorable nanocellulose/carbon nanomaterial hybrid platforms for applications, by altering the constituent material properties.
